We would like to announce the result of Smada Open Debate (SODE) 2011 that was conducted on June 3rd-5th, 2011 at SMAN 2 Surabaya. Hereby, the A-Core would like to congratulate the following teams:
UGM A (Caessar Pronocitro, Astri Agustina, Novelisa Wirid) as the Champion,
Angry Cock (Sony, Rizal Kuddah, and Erwin) as the Runner Up,
UGM B (Thomas,Amir Abdul Azis, Erwina Salsabila) and
Forever Young (Badai Y., Reggy Hasibuan, and Karnia P.) as the 2nd Runner Ups.
as well as the 3 BEST SPEAKERS of the Tournament:
1st: Astri Agustina (UGM A)
2nd:Amir Abdul Azis (UGM B), and
3rd: Caessar (UGM A) and Sony (Angry Cock)
and the best speaker for senior high category:

We would also like to thank everyone who were involved in this competition: the SODE committee and the Surabaya Community of Debating (SCUD) for providing an excellent tournament, every team who registered and competed till the very end, and every invited adjudicator who came all the way from Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta, and Semarang. Couldn't have made it without you guys :)

THE 2nd SODE 2011
SODE 2011 (SMADA OPEN DEBATE EVENT) is back with a more challenging concept than the previous SODE 2010.
Due to the request of fellow debaters and adjudicators, hence this year SODE is now set with no limitation at all. Yup you hear it right. No age limitation, No institution limitation, No regional limitation (you may call it National Competition, if you'd like to).
This is of course a very good news for some adjudicators or coaches who have been craving for some open debate event out there that put no age limitation so that they join the competition that they can't join for some ages due to their aging age (haha :P). Yet this is also can be considered as a challenge for SODE committee to find high qualified adjudicator out there who would be eligible to adjudicate in this Smada Open Debate Event.
So with no further due, we SODE committee in collaboration with SCUD (Surabaya Community of Debating) are proudly presenting to you (drum rolls)

Registration: 2 May-22 May 2011
Technical Meeting & Adju accreditation: 3 June 2011
Competition: 4-5 June 2011
This competition apllies Asian Parliamentary system. And no prepared motion at all. It'd be totally impromptu.
Registration Fee:
1) General Category : IDR.300k (team + n1 adju)
2) Senior High Category : IDR.200K (team + n1 adju)
3) Junior High Category : IDR.100K (team + n1 adju)
4) Independent Adjudicator: IDR.50K

5) Breaking Night Party: IDR.55K/person
(each team at least obliged to send one representative to join the breaking night party)
Registration can be done via web or via mail, you are free to choose.

2) Senior High Category : SMA/SMK/MAN
3) Junior High Category : SMP
Breaking Night Party
The first day of SODE 2011 will be closed by having Breaking Night Party and Breaking Teams Announcement. The committee is currently working with Twin Hotel to have a Pool Side Breaking Night Party for all debaters and adjudicators with direct sparkling night view over Suramadu Bridge and Tanjung Perak Harbor. Yup, not only we are going to have a hell of night by eating, drinking, singing, playing some games and social gathering, you can also swim in the pool if you are crazy enough :P.
Adjudication Core:
As an Open Debate Event, the SODE committee try to give to the most eligible and trusted A-core from 3 different regions of Java.
Jakarta: Ahmad Naufal Da'i of UI
Jogjakarta: Eldhianto Maulana Jusuf of UGM
Bandung: Rifan Ibnu Rahman Sastrodiwiryo of ITB
This A-core will make sure that the invited adjudicators are those who have at least A & B accreditation that acknowledged nationally.
